Gower Papercut

Every morning I walk with a friend and her dog around the cliffs. It's beautiful and refreshing whatever the weather. It clears my head before I have to start concentrating on cutting out bits of paper very accurately.
This papercut was inspired by these walks and it now has a home in Surrey

Exhibition Sign

My papercut exhibition sign is starting to look a bit weary. I think I'll have to make a new one for 2015 - without the 'Glass' in it!

Great Northern Contemporary Design Fair

Just returned from the Great Northern Contemporary Design Fair at Manchester.
It was a fantastic event and this year it took place in The Old Granada Studios which was a brilliant venue. As a bonus it was warm, dry and not windy unlike last year in the marquee.
I had a fantastic time meeting other exhibitors and seeing the beautiful work that they do.
I love Manchester, it's such a vibrant city. The only downside was my mega grotty b&b and the nightmare journey home on the M6 and M5!

Makers Guild In Wales

Just heard that I've been selected for The Makers Guild In Wales. The work is a showcase of contemporary craft from Wales with international exhibitions and hands on workshops. It's situated in Cardiff Bay, directly opposite the Millenium Centre

Tangiers

This papercut is based on a drawing in my sketchbook from a trip I took to Morocco in 2009. I originally cut it in the same format as the sketch but was then commissioned by a client to re create in a square format.

Cornish Papercut

I came back from exhibiting at The Cornwall Design Fair a couple of weeks ago, totally inspired by the beautiful little villages and harbours. The exhibition was at Trerife House near Mousehole so I managed to make a couple of visits in the early morning before the exhibition opened, to take some photos and make sketches. This is the resulting papercut which is now in the Rostra Gallery in Bath.

Papercut Design for Frosted Window Film

This papercut would make a great design as frosted window film. It'll be at my next exhibition in Surrey in May.
Keep a look out for it over the next few weeks whilst I develop this idea!

Seek & Adore

I've been having trouble photographing my glass and getting a good representational image for  www.seekandadore.com  These are the latest which are listed on their website at the moment.

Internal Door Panels

This glass was designed for a newly built Arts & Crafts style house in Exeter. The client chose the following 4 designs from a number of sketches for each of the sets of 4 glass panels and these were then made in sandblasted and carved glass. The photographs show the finished glass from the right hand design before it left my studio

Papercut and Sandblasted Splashback commission

This commission was for a kitchen splashback. The design reflects the area in which the client lives and includes an image of their house.
A papercut was created from the original drawing, and the artwork for the sandblasting stencil was created digitally from that. This is slightly more complex as it allows for 2 depths of sandblasting.
The panel will be fixed to the wall using chrome mirror screws.
